As We Change
When I first opened my clinic, I was seeing almost 100 patients a week.
I wanted to introduce this medicine to my community. I needed to pay the bills. Life is life.
I also have a heart for service, and I put the needs of my clients above my own. I wanted to give people the love and the experience that I had found in this medicine.
But in doing that, I was neglecting my own care.
I kept that pace for about a year before I started to slow down a little.
And then the shutdown happened.
Despite all of the fear and uncertainty of that time, it gave me an opportunity to step back and look at how I was showing up.
I was tired.
I lacked creativity.
And I realized some things had to change.
Since then, I seem to have been in a constant state of evaluation and change.
I'm aging. I'm moving through perimenopause. I fell into the role of mom to two amazing humans. I got married. My life changed.
And my practice changed with it.
Over the years, I've realized that my practice has reflected the seasons of my own life. And that has continued to remind me that this medicine is just that:
Seasonal.
Supportive.
Changing.
The care you need today may not be the care you need next month.
Every time I see you, I'm changing the way I care for you based on the season of life you're in. I want to be sure that what you receive supports you where you are.
Here. Now.
Because next week may be different.
Next month may be different.
You may be different.
And so may I.
I want to show up for who you are in this moment. And I think that's part of what makes our time together different.
You change with me.
I change with you.
Yin. Yang.
Interdependence.
Life.
We flow. Together.
We grow. Together.
